Kinesiologist (Geriatric Rehab) - Part-Time
Position Summary
We are looking for a kinesiologist to join our team of health professionals in the North Shore and Vancouver areas. We provide health and wellness solutions, specializing in physical rehabilitation and strengthening, to older adults and seniors in the aforementioned communities. This is a part time contract (20-35hrs/week) opportunity to work with clients in their homes or community setting.
Responsibilities

Implement OT, PT, and/or kinesiologist directed physical, cognitive and life-skills programs in community or residence based settings for clients with neurological and physical disabilities.

Develop and implement active rehabilitation programs.

Provide detailed reports for initial assessment, progress and discharge assessments.

Maintain ongoing communication with clients, doctors, lawyers, insurance companies and other medical professionals.

Provide accurate physical assessments regarding posture and muscular weaknesses.

Teach and supervise semi-private / small group exercise classes.

Administrative duties as required.

Coordinate private 1:1 physical rehabilitation services, massage services and kinesiology services for the geriatric population.

Conduct educational presentations/seminars for the public and health professionals on age related conditions and rehab.

Escort clients to their clinical appointments such as physicians’ visit, lab appointments etc. and summarize medical information to clients and/or family.
Main Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or equivalent
-
Certified Kinesiologist designation through BCAK or Certified Exercise Physiologist designation through CSEP
-
Current (or willing to obtain) first aid and CPR (Level C or higher)

Malpractice insurance
-
Interest in seniors’ health

Good understanding of age related health conditions

Access to a vehicle

Proficient in English (written and verbal)

Self-motivated with a strong work ethics

Good communication and inter-personal skills
-
Able to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision

Experience working with the geriatric population, cardiac rehab or group fitness is an asset
Compensation commensurate with experience
Physiotherapist – Casual

We are in need of a physiotherapist who is available to work part-time/casual hours with our senior patients in West Vancouver and North Vancouver.
The Physiotherapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, dietitians, nurses etc.
This position provides physiotherapy services at our clients’ homes, which includes assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of clients and/or their caregivers.
Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor's and/or Master’s Degree of Science in Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy or an equivalent approved by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and the College of Physical Therapist Association of British Columbia (CPTBC);

Member, in good standing, of the BC College of Physiotherapists;

Current CPR certificate or willing to obtain it.
